Parallel to the Salzburg Summer Festival, we will again be showing a summer exhibition in 2022, in the rooms of the KHG - Catholic University Community in the Kollegienkirche. The show focuses on the impact of early Viennese modernism on the Viennese post-war avant-garde, especially on Viennese Actionism. In particular, the works by Gustav Klimt, Egon Schiele, Günter Brus or Franz West focus on the intensive examination of the human body and the manifold dimensions of physical as well as psychological experience.

In 2022 we will also present a small special show with works by the Austrian stone sculptor Karl Prantl (1923 - 2010). Prantl is one of the most important Austrian sculptors of the Second Republic. For his sculptures, some of which he worked on for years, he used a wide variety of stones such as black granite from Sweden, grey sandstone, green serpentinite or light-coloured Lasa marble from South Tyrol. In 2014, the Albertina in Vienna dedicated a large solo exhibition to the artist entitled "The Language of Stones".
