Lyonel Feininger
Exactly 100 years after his first major solo exhibition in 1917, at the Berlin gallery "Der Sturm" and following the highly acclaimed exhibition at the Madrid Fundación Juan March, Shepherd W&K Galleries show selected works by New York-born artist Lyonel Feininger (1871 - 1956).

With pen drawings, watercolours and oil paintings from the years 1910 to 1952, which can be shown publicly in this form for the first time in New York, the exhibition documents his artistic development from caricaturist to painter and thus provides an insight into the diversity of Lyonel Feininger's oeuvre. In terms of motifs, the exhibition is particularly devoted to his cloud and sea pictures, but also presents urban and architectural subjects.
