Max Weiler is undoubtedly one of the most important Austrian painters of the 20th century. He has played a decisive role in shaping this in over seven decades of intensive creative activity. The exhibition at Palais Schönborn-Batthyany shows selected works - paintings and drawings - from the important early 1960s and 1980s. The highlight of the show is the "Wide Landscape" from 1963, which is the largest painting on canvas with a length of more than six metres, which impressively brings the fascination of the painter before the greatness of nature to bear.
