Stone is for Karl Prantl (1923 - 2010) matter of life, it has eternal character. It comes from the earth and returns to the earth. Stones bear traces of previous existences, they possess their own history, and many of the stones Prantl used originally served different purposes, possessed different functions. In search of the right stone, the artist is willing to travel from one end of the world to the other. The precious finds come from quarries in Brazil, Japan, Norway, Africa, India, Germany and, of course, Austria.
